Tales of Legendary America–Teaches ‘500 years’ of American History through sight and sound! The program includes learning about perspective, being inspired to read more about the legendary characters who sought ultimate adventure and shaped America. Some notable characters: the explorers and conquistadors Christopher Columbus and Ponce de Leon; the great environmentalist William Bartram who lived in Philadelphia and who documented his travels throughout the southeast; moments of courage captured in the American Revolution; the perils and journeys of immigrants; and robber baron and entrepreneur Henry Flagler who believed in saying ‘possible’ when others said ‘impossible’. We include ‘local’ characters when possible, or those about which students are learning, in Tales of Legendary America.
