Joy Myers, pianist, performer, educator

Pianist Joy Myers graduated from Jacksonville University summa cum laude with departmental honors and a dual major in music education and music performance. She has been a pianist with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, Jacksonville Lyric Opera Theater, Starlight Symphonette (where she was guest soloist several times), Amadeus Trio of Jacksonville, St. Augustine Continental Strings, and the Palm Court Society Orchestra. She has also played viola with the Jacksonville University Orchestra.
Joy Myers was honored as Woman of the Year: World of Arts in 1994. She has certification in Yamaha piano, Kindermusik, Suzuki violin, and Suzuki piano. Before touring, Joy was the Performing Arts Director at St. Johns Country Day School where she also taught band, chorus, Show Choir, and general music. Joy is the founder of Concert on the Green, Inc., a 25-year non-profit organization which brings the Jacksonville Symphony to perform an annual outdoor concert Memorial Day Weekend. This organization has given over $250,000 in scholarships to fine and performing art students in Clay County, Florida.

Joy has recently opened House of Joy Preschool in Boulder, Colorado. She enjoys spending non-touring time with her three children, Josh, Kort, and Beth, along with their spouses and her four adorable grandchildren. She loves adventure and noticing details in the beautiful Rocky Mountains as she hikes, bikes, and kayaks.
